These terms cover what Mathamphetamines does, what you agree to by playing, and what we're not on the hook for. They're written plainly. Read them.

1. Accepting these terms

By using mathamphetamines.com (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Site.

2. Who can use the Site

You must be at least 13 years old to use Mathamphetamines. If you are under 13, please use our kid-friendly sister site, Math Quest, instead. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian.

3. About the theme (important)

The Site's name and certain narrative elements ("the dealer," "the alley," "HITS," "JOB DONE," etc.) are satirical and tongue-in-cheek. Mathamphetamines does not glorify, promote, or facilitate the sale, use, or distribution of controlled substances. Nothing on the Site involves actual drugs. The "high" we reference is the flow state of doing mental math quickly. Treat the theming as you would a heist movie or a noir comic — fiction, not instruction.

4. Accounts

Creating an account is optional and uses a username + password stored as a salted SHA-256 hash in your browser's localStorage. You're responsible for keeping your credentials safe. Because accounts currently live in your browser, we cannot reset a forgotten password — clearing your browser data will let you sign up again with the same name.

Don't use a username that impersonates another person, contains harassment or slurs, or violates anyone's rights. We reserve the right to take down content (including usernames) that we judge harmful, though enforcement is limited given the local-only nature of accounts today.

5. Virtual currency (HITS) is not real money

HITS are an in-game currency with no real-world value. You cannot buy HITS with real money on this Site. You cannot exchange HITS for real money, goods, or services off this Site. HITS, your inventory, your home base, your avatar, and your progress are entertainment — not property, not investments, not gambling winnings. If the Site goes offline, or if you clear your browser data, your HITS disappear. We are not liable for any "loss" of HITS or in-game items.

6. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Reverse-engineer or modify the Site's code in a way intended to cheat (you can inspect anything; you can't use exploits to falsify leaderboards).
• Use bots, scrapers, or automated agents to play the games or manipulate stats.
• Attempt to break, overload, or get unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its hosting infrastructure.
• Misuse the contact channels (spam, phishing, harassment).
• Use the Site in a way that violates any applicable law.

7. Intellectual property

The code, design, graphics, copy, branding, and music (if any) on Mathamphetamines are protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Site for entertainment as intended. You may not copy, redistribute, modify, or commercialize the Site or its assets without written permission.

8. Advertising

The Site may display third-party advertisements (e.g., Google AdSense). We are not responsible for ad content. Ads are subject to those networks' policies. You can opt out of personalized advertising via the cookie consent banner.

9. Third-party links

The Site may link to third-party sites or services (such as a Netlify deploy URL or our Math Quest sister site). We don't control those services and aren't responsible for their content or practices.

10. Disclaimers

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available", with all faults and without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or virus-free.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall Mathamphetamines, its operators, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of the Site. Our total cumulative liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Site shall not exceed USD $20, which you acknowledge as a reasonable cap given that the Site is free.

12. Termination

You can stop using the Site at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these terms or whose use poses risk to the Site or other users.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [your state], USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located there.

14. Changes

We may revise these terms. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Site after changes means you accept them.
